This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards. When I did my first raid, I was a person without any friends who played the game and I also mic-less. Brian Brian 3 years ago 5 If people would spend the time to lfg as they did to make these topics they could raid.
Why there is no matchmaking for raids...
Imagine all of the new forum complaints that will ensue. It's not how do we change the raid-design philosophy to allow for matchmaking. I get it now. Until you have actually experienced the nightmare that some LFG raids turn into, it is probably difficult to conceive how disastrous that Matchmade raids would be. As players are using the forum for this anyway This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards. Make it easier to find a group and all.
But based on these forums, the last thing this game needs right now is matchmaking for PVE raids. I have been able to raid just using the bungie forums very successfully so you should try it.
I think it yields better results than random matchmaking. I have been able to finish the raid every week since I have been high enough level so from my perspective it works pretty well right now. Because some people will use it. I think that is a conservative figure too. Wasted investment and they know it. I'm barely on for 5 minutes before a friend invites me to join their raid, and I started with 0 friends when this game came out!
He still hasn't completed the raid though lol, hoping to fix that tonight. No, that would be entirely too random for high-level activities that are supposed to take teamwork and sometimes a decent amount of time to complete. Have you even played the Tiger strike playlist lately?
Do you know how big a shitstorm it is? Lol,you don't deserve to raid with that attitude. Raid matchmaking will probably never happen. I've never struggled to find raiders , strikers , weeklys etc and I didn't use a special website , I used the In concept the idea of matchmaking for raids is great.
In practice it would be terrible. Imagine raiding with 5 level 25 characters and the people controlling them have never raided. Imagine all of the people that would LEAVE those raids because of the sheer level of frustration when a raid you can do in an hour takes 3. Imagine all of the new forum complaints that will ensue. It would only be worse if I made my response based on Hard Mode raids The drop rate would be incredible.
Nah you'd never find a team you're happy with. Sorry kiddo just becuase you want it built it does not mean it has to be becuse you are too lazy to find group by any of the means that are available right now to do so. Then you're not buying the DLC. I'm VERY glad for that. I understand not for raids. But weekly and nightfall matchmaking should be available. Those are harder to find a team for than the raid in my opinions.
I don't understand why people still ask this question. Plus it has lead to more in game friends than I have ever gotten from matchmaking in any game. After a short time of using it, you won't even need it. You'll have enough friends on your list. It's much more social. You can request specific classes, specify mic use, ect. The chances of someone quitting is much lower never had it happen , and you don't get stuck with freeloaders.
It assures that you are getting someone serious. Which is matchmaking's biggest flaw. Notes optional; required for "Other": Add user to Ignore List after reporting.

Jemas Jemas 3 years ago 1 There is a lot of chatter and complaining about the end game raids not having a match making aspect. But this guy explained it in a simple way, that seems to get the point across. Then I watched it again. I really did miss what Luke Smith was outlining for Raids. I am guilty of not seeing the trees through the forest.
Not sure if it is because most of the last 15 plus years I have mainly been an FPS player, the fact that Bungie made Halo - a game I have loved and played since the beginning - or because of distractions while watching the video.
It doesn't really matter. Here is why I came to understand that. Destiny is truly different from what I and many others are used to. It is a grouping of a few different experiences drawn from FPS, open world exploration, campaign, MMO - Bungie calls in a shared world shooter for a good reason.
Here is an analogy I hope you all can follow and appreciate, so read it through. Compare Destiny to a camp ground at the base of a tall mountain. I know, but stick with me.
You can take your family and friends camping in the campground at the base of the mountain. There are campsites, running water, showers, a lake for swimming and fishing, natural trails, etc.
This is the base lower levels of Destiny. You need only basic camping knowledge and low level survival skills. This is campaign, exploration and entry level Crucible. As your camping skills progress and your friends and family gain more experience you camp in more rugged terrain, tackle more arduous trails, begin climbing higher and more difficult areas.
This is higher level of mission play and the Crucible. Still with your regular friends and capable family members. Then, you reach a point were your desire to push higher up the mountain requires more preparation, better equipment and better training and skills. You make a series of attempts and find you are able to tackle this higher level of the mountain on a regular basis and take an experienced friend or two to count on for support and any trouble you get into.
You look at yourself. You feel you are experienced enough to make an assault to the peak, but know you can't do it alone. You need real experienced climbers to help you, the best gear and have to able to tap deep down into your inner survival instincts to reach the highest level.
This is the Raid. This is a simplistic analogy, but I hope that it helps other to understand what I finally did. No experienced and prepared and well equipped climber wants to group up with some people he found in town that say they are willing to try it.
You want a group you can count on. Fellow climbers that know what this climb will take, have prepared for it physically, have the right equipment, etc. This is your character development and weapons knowledge and build. You want climbers that will not leave when the going gets tough, randoms, but will struggle through all the way to the top. It may take a few assault attempts to reach the top, but your team will make it if you stick together and support each other.
After that, the next mountain will be different, offer different challenges, but you have a team that you can count on. I get it now.
Iamges: why is there no matchmaking for raids in destiny
I think that is a conservative figure too. Seems lazy and lacking foresight on their behalf. Wasted investment and they know it.
In both cases, it isn't as simple as sticking matchmaking in. If you haven't raided it is because you haven't made the effort. You want climbers that will not leave when the going gets tough, randoms, but will struggle through all the way to the top.
It's meant to reward people who put in time and effort to learn to work together to overcome hard instances. Matchmaking should be available. I am guilty of not seeing the trees through the forest. Imagine all of the new forum complaints that will ensue. Many World of Warcraft players claim that this feature ruined the game.
